Medicine, Stents or Surgery for Coronary Artery Disease

Home » Webinar » Medicine, Stents or Surgery for Coronary Artery Disease

Coronary artery disease (CAD) is common and increasingly afflicts younger patients. The spectrum of CAD ranges from asymptomatic disease to stable angina to acute coronary syndromes. For most patients with asymptomatic disease or stable angina, medical therapy is the treatment of choice. For patients with refractory angina despite optimal medical therapy, or with acute coronary syndromes, coronary intervention (stents or surgery) is the initial therapy of choice. Most patients with CAD can be treated with modern-day angioplasty techniques and stents, even for patients with triple vessel CAD.
