The importance of early recognition of acute, life-threatening skin rashes cannot be overemphasized. The “Danger Signs” of drug rashes include skin pain, skin necrosis, blisters, erosions, non-blanchable erythema, purpura, petechiae, and mucosal involvement. For patients with drug hypersensitivity syndrome, careful monitoring and follow-up of associated hepatitis or renal dysfunction are crucial.
